The South Jersey Beekeepers Association is dedicated to promoting, preserving, and teaching the craft of beekeeping. Our classes are designed to provide the latest information about beekeeping and to make beekeeping accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
We strive to provide the most comprehensive and up-to-date instruction on beekeeping and to support our members in their beekeeping endeavors. Beekeeping is both fascinating and complex, and our classes can help set you up for success.
Intro to Beekeeping
Fall 2025 Course

Six online classes will be held on Saturday mornings, in Fall 2025.

The dates are Oct 11,18, 25 and Nov 1, 8, 15.

This fall series fulfills the regulatory requirements of the State of New Jersey for beekeeper education.

The course will cover: Honey bee biology and life cycle, Selecting hive components, Setting up an apiary, Purchasing honey bees, Honey bee diseases and pests, Honey harvesting, and much more.

Tuition is $125 per person and includes the text, The Beekeeper’s Handbook 5th edition, by Diana Sammataro and Alphonse Avitabile.
